Volunteer
Program
It is the mission of Volunteer Program of Trilogy to enhance the integration
of adults with psychiatric disabilities into the natural communities in
which they live, to promote the independence of Trilogy clients, and to
reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.
Objectives
- To
recruit, train and supervise individuals and group volunteers from
a variety of sources within the local community.

To utilize unique skills and talents of volunteers effectively by
matching volunteers to opportunities within the agency.

To provide opportunities for Trilogy clients to form natural, freely-given
relationships with members of their communities, to develop a support
system which does not involve paid professionals.

To serve as an informational, referral, and consultation resource
to individuals and organizations in the community on topics related
to mental health.
Requirements
- Volunteer
1-6 hours/week

Make an initial commitment to volunteer for 3 months (1 year for mentor)

Complete application form, confidentiality agreement, background check
(required by state law)

Attend an initial interview, orientation and Psychiatric Disability
Training (2 hours)

Submit monthly volunteer logs to the program manager
Available Volunteer Opportunities
- Tutoring:
Basic Math and Literacy, GED Preparation, ESL, Computer Applications

Mentoring: Engage individual one-on-one in social
activities such as walks, coffee, movies, chatting, board games, hobbies,
phone calls, grocery shopping, community events, public transportation,
etc.

Assistant Group Leader: Assist staff in facilitating
therapeutic groups such as Music, Art, Exercise, Coffee Night, Social
Events, etc.
- Special
Projects: Use unique skills to assist with building &
grounds, office & technical support, holiday parties, special
events or fundraising
Note:
Requirements for Special Projects vary and may not involve all
of the above.
